Corporate DevelopMint Unveils Cutting-Edge Survey Results

Charleston, SC (February 1, 2006) -- Corporate DevelopMint, a leading regional fundraising and strategic development firm, will begin releasing results from an innovative Benchmarking study. The study focuses on determining what factors, both internal and external, affect the ability of a hospital or health system to raise philanthropic dollars.

This project conducted by Corporate DevelopMint is the first to use in-depth analysis to examine the relationship between factors such as local fundraising culture or CEO participation and the dollars raised by the healthcare organization. Determining the relationship between these factors is revolutionary – the results will prove invaluable to hospitals competing in an increasingly competitive donor market. This new benchmarking study was undertaken to help guide healthcare fund raising CEOs understanding of the best possible practices for funding the next level of excellence at the healthcare systems they serve.

Thus far, 28 Healthcare Foundations and Development Offices from across the eastern US have participated in the research project, representing both large healthcare systems and smaller community hospitals geographically ranging from Ohio to Florida. As a result, the study findings are applicable to a large number of healthcare institutions rather than one particular division.

The study results will be presented at the invitation only 2006 Healthcare CEO Forum on Philanthropy, with CEOs, Foundation representatives, Board members, and physicians from approximately 30 hospital systems in attendance. The Forum will take place at The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island, SC, on Monday, February 13 and Tuesday, February 14.

In addition to the presenting of our Benchmarking results, the Healthcare CEO Forum on Philanthropy will also host prestigious key note speaker, Eugene (Gene) Wilson Cochrane, Jr. Mr. Cochrane is the current president of the Duke Endowment (a private philanthropic foundation based in Charlotte, NC) and the incoming President of Grant Makers In Health. His topic, National Trends in Healthcare Funding, will directly address the changes and challenges currently surrounding healthcare funding.
